Yet another collection of suggestions

Hi again! Here's a new round of feedback/suggestions after using Turbobulls more, mostly about imports and navigating transactions, plus a few possible bugs.

💬 Community website
  • View/filter for threads I'm involved in. A "My threads" or "Participating" view (threads I started or replied to) would make it much easier to find my conversations again.
📥 Importing files
  • Click the duplicates count to filter them. When an import shows e.g. "12 duplicates", clicking that count should filter the preview to show only those rows. Right now they're hard to find: in one import I had 326 pages of transactions, and the first duplicate was on page 126.
🧭 Navigating transactions
  • "Back to top" button. When exploring a long, filtered list of transactions, there's no quick way to get back to the top. I either have to scroll a long way up or click Wallet and set up the filters again, which also loses my place.

  • Ctrl+click and Shift+click to select rows. Ctrl+clicking a row currently does nothing. It would be great if it selected the row, and if Shift+click selected a range of rows, like in most file managers and email clients. This is much faster than aiming for the checkboxes, especially when selecting many rows.

  • Explain "Cleared". A short tooltip on the Cleared column header (or its values) explaining what it means would help.

  • Mobile UI: show notes/name instead of category. In the transactions list on mobile, the notes/name is more useful for recognizing a transaction than the category. I understand that "Notes" field is optional and may be empty in a transaction, but in most of the cases it contains the description of the transaction. If the Notes column is empty, it can probably fallback to the category column.

🐛 Bugs
  • "Select all" ignores active filters (Portfolio → Broker movements). After filtering by type (e.g. Outside deposit), clicking "Select all" selects every row, not just the filtered ones. That's risky with bulk actions such as delete.
  • Type filter stays applied after its value disappears (Portfolio → Broker movements). If all rows of the filtered type are deleted, that type disappears from the filter dropdown and no longer shows as selected, but the filter is still applied, so the table stays empty with no visible way to clear it. To reproduce:
    1. Create a new broker.
    2. Add an Outside deposit transaction.
    3. Filter by Type → Outside deposit.
    4. Delete the Outside deposit transaction.
    5. The filter is still active, but Outside deposit no longer appears as selected.
  • Auto-generated dividends might be using the record date instead of the payable date. For example, for Mastercard dividends the auto-generated transaction uses the value in the Record column rather than the Payable date. The two can be a month apart. For example, the latest Mastercard dividend has record date 10/09/26 and payable date 11/09/26. Using the payable date would match when the cash actually arrives in the account (https://investor.mastercard.com/stock-information/dividend-history/default.aspx )
  • Minor wording: "Add another after saving". In the transaction creation form, "saving" can be confusing when the transaction isn't a saving, e.g. a Buy or a Withdrawal, since it reads like the savings type/category. Something like "Add another after creating" may be clearer.

Thanks! Happy to share examples or help reproduce anything.

Hi @thepatientvisigoth, thank you for another round, and for the exact steps on the bugs: they made both easy to confirm. Here’s where each one stands.

    Bugs

    • “Select all” ignores the filters in Broker movements. Confirmed, and you’re right that it’s risky. Select all picks every movement, not just the filtered ones, and actions like delete then apply to all of them. The new version fixes this: “Select all shown” picks only what’s on screen, and actions apply only to rows you can see. Until then, please select rows one by one there rather than using Select all with a filter on.
    • The Type filter that stays applied. Confirmed too. To clear it today, open the Type filter, press Clear, then Apply. We found the same pattern in the new version as well, so we’re fixing it there before it ships.
    • The dividend date. Good catch, and you’re half right, which made us look closer. The automatic dividend is dated on the ex-date, not the payable date. For US shares the ex-date and record date are now usually the same day, which is why it looked like the record date. We agree the cash should arrive on the payable date, and we’re looking at changing it.
    • “Add another after saving.” Fair point, and an easy one. We’ll reword it.

Already in the new version that's comming

    • Mobile list: the name or notes come first, falling back to the category when they’re empty, just as you suggested.
    • Duplicates in imports: the import review puts them on their own tab, so you don’t have to hunt for them across 326 pages.
    • “Cleared”: each row’s check mark explains itself on hover.

    Good ideas we’ve noted

    • Ctrl+click and Shift+click to select rows. Agreed, it’s much faster than aiming for checkboxes.
    • Back to top. Noted. Meanwhile, the Home key (Cmd+Up on a Mac) jumps to the top of the page, and your filters are kept in the address, so going back doesn’t lose them.
    • Threads you’re involved in: most of this is already there. Open the account menu, then Your profile: Activity lists everything you’ve posted, each linking to its thread, and Threads lists the ones you started. A view that also shows what’s new in those threads is a good idea, and we’ve noted it.

    Thank you, as always. 🙏

2.0 is out, and here’s the surprise I hinted at: a custom asset can now get its prices from a data provider you pick, so your Swedish funds keep their prices up to date on their own. It works through the Turbobulls Connector, a browser extension or an app from npm, open source, and anyone can contribute. It comes with Turbo Pro and the trial, and on any plan you can import a fund’s price history from a file.

Your earlier ideas are live too: the cash-flow flow chart, the dividend forecast and the Bitvavo importer. From this list:

    • “Select all shown” picks only what’s on screen.
    • The mobile list shows the name or notes first.
    • Imports put duplicates on their own tab.
    • The cleared check mark explains itself on hover.
