CSV import: transfers between accounts

I want to upload a few months worth of transactions into Turbobulls.

Normal transactions can be imported (except the payee as per my other thread). However there is no way to import transfers between accounts. Even after both accounts have been created. This is critical because credit card payments, for example, is a transfer from my bank account to the credit card. And of course if I deposit into a broker, this is in fact a transfer from my bank account into the broker's cash account.

Please consider supporting this for imports. Transfers are very common occurrences.

Agreed, and you’ve picked exactly the right example. A credit card payment imported as two ordinary lines counts your spending twice: once when you buy, once when you pay the card. Transfers matter.

There’s a fix after importing today. On the Wallet page, select the two lines and combine them into one transfer, or select several lines on one account and turn each into a transfer to an account you pick. Lines that are really deposits to a broker can be switched with Change type.

In 2.0 the import handles this itself, so you won’t need the clean-up. Before anything is saved, you can mark each line as a transfer between your accounts, or as a deposit to or withdrawal from a broker. If your file has From and To columns, it can name both sides directly. Thanks for pushing on this one.
